1. @Nate – need underlining – blah, blah doesn’t seem to work, as it does on other sites.

2. OK, it didn’t show up, so I’ll leave off the < brackets and see if that makes a difference:
   span style="text-decoration: underline;" imagine text line here /span
   Now add brackets on each side of span style=”text-decoration: underline;” and /span to see what I input.

   This (if it shows) is what I’ve always used elsewhere.

7. What is this about and what brought it on? Is this what they call HTML? At some point I want to learn how to use WordPress. Am I going to need to know HTML? I assume that I am going to need to know HTML at some point. Really, I cannot even tell you what HTML is or why I need it, I just gather, assume. I know how to do http://www. so and so. that is about it. I am from the deep south, I do my best.

8. Hi Joseph,

   Just had a few people ask me how to do text effects in their comments, so I thought a single page to point them to would be helpful. Yes, the tags I listed are HTML tags. HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language, and it’s what lets the internet display content (to put it simply).

   But luckily, you don’t have to know about it to use WordPress. 🙂 To post content in your blog, you can use WordPress’s “Visual” text editor (when you click “Posts => Add New” from your Dashboard), and it works pretty much the same way that Microsoft Office Word does.

   Hope your foray into WordPress goes well! 🙂
