I may live to regret this, but I’ve decided to extend this never-ending conversation once again.
Kathy, this time, it would be a nice change of pace if you would actually address what William has repeatedly been saying to you:
I have. Not saying i’m perfect at it or that I’m right, but the “evidences” you listed arent real evidences. And since you refuse to look at things that are counter to your current beliefs, how can you honestly speak to me about evidences?
here’s all I’ve seen you provide:
1) martyrs, even though every religion and many non-religions have them.
2) our very existence – which no one knows how that started, but even if you must land on god(s), you must go back to that book of claims to get to jesus.
3) there were miracles, but as it turns out, those dont happen today, and end up being more claims by the same men who claim they speak for god.
4) the fulfilled prophecies we’ve discussed weren’t really prophecies at all, or had to be viewed so figuratively that it’s difficult to show anything precise about them other than location (maybe) in order to claim they’re actually fulfilled.
5) 40 authors taking 1500 years to write the bible. But there’s nothing miraculous about men writing books, editing books, and being inspired to write a book or letter after reading an older book.
About that last point, if the Bible had been written by 1500 people scattered across the globe, who didn’t know one another, and they did it in 40 days, then you’d really have something incredible. But 40-ish people, all familiar with the Jewish god, and writing over a long period of time with the previous writings as reference, is not that impressive.
Okay, take out you reading glasses and try again.
I have tried to explain this so many times, I think out of everyone here, you are the only one that doesn’t get it. Here is an analogy, that might help.
Let’s say I was going to build a house, and I made a set of plans. The plans are great, but they don’t just make a house appear. I follow the plans, and get about half way done. Now because I failed to finish the plans, my house is uninhabitable. The plans were still good, and would produce a perfect house, if they were completed.
The plan of redemption is layed out in the 7 feasts. The day of atonement, which is what atones for your sins is part of the fall feasts, and that has not happened yet. That is why messiah must come again. That is why there is still sin, and suffering. The restoration of all things has not happened yet. The plan is not finished, you can not live in the house!
Let me give you another clue. Each feast has a sacrifice that points to Yahusha. Messiah was sacrificed once for all. His sacrifice was enough. The entire plan has yet to be finished. The last feast is called Sukkot, in your bible it will say tabernacle. It not only represents the past, when Israel dwelt in tents, but it represents the future when God will tabernacle among us. This is the final feast, and it comes right after the day of atonement.

“Then Peter came and said to Him, ‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.'” ~Matthew 18:21-22
Kathy, it seems to me you’re saying that Jesus (aka God) can talk the talk, but can’t walk the walk.

Actually, arch, I’ve been doing a good bit of research and The Crusades and the Witch Trials aren’t the only dark periods in Christianity. Kathy’s challenge about the martyrs of other religions got me looking into it. The early Mormons didn’t fair to well with Christians either.

More moderate Muslims use the same argument Kathy does about Christianity:

“It’s the most asinine plan ever conceived when forgiveness requires nothing further than the extension of forgiveness. If fallible humans can do it, why can’t an infallible god?”
You just don’t get it, Ron – all the rest of the Bible’s god’s kids had already moved out (Gen 6) – they had popped down to the planet and hooked up with Earth chicks, and had a passel of kids that became mighty men, men of renown.
But there was this one, Yeshua, who wouldn’t leave the nest, always underfoot, and so this god, who needed a kid-break, sent him down to earth for a 30+-year vacation, hoping he might find a nice Jewish girl and settle down, maybe make a few more mighty men – how was he supposed to know the kid was gonna get himself in trouble? Kids today – oy – you can’t live with ’em, you can’t crucify ’em and expect ’em to stay crucified.
That whole forgiveness thing was thought up at the last minute, to cover the fact that Yeshua couldn’t manage to stay out of trouble for even 30+ years! So – April Fool –?

“See, this is what I mean, you all don’t know enough to judge God and how He has chosen to
deal with sin”
According to the Bible Kathy – YOUR Bible – your god invented sin. No one can break a rule unless someone makes it first. Don’t make rules, and no one will break rules. I’m thinking your god is not much of a people-person. You don’t see the rest of the animals being required to follow a bunch of rules, do you? They’re just out there, doing their thing, as we should be – but noooooooo —
And before you go off on another of your, “Who are you to be judging god?” tirades, I’m not judging your god, I’m judging the ignorant, superstitious men who fabricated him, and the ignorant, superstitious people who believed them.

Well, the good book warns against getting bogged down in all that highfalutin reading and studying stuff:

You said you answered my questions, and wish more questions were asked. Here are some questions that were not addressed.
Matt 23:8 read first
Philemon 1:10
1 Corinthians 4:14-17
1 Corinthians 12:27
2 Timothy 1:11
1 Timothy 2:7
Ephesians 4:11,12
Why is it that messiah says not to be called rabbi or father, but Paul it’s not obedient to this command?
Matt 10:7,8
1 Timothy 5:17,18
1 Corinthians 9:11,12
Messiah says here that he had given freely, go and freely give. Again, Paul is disobedient.
Matt 18:15
Galatians 2:11-14
Messiah said that if you have a problem with your brother, you should deal with it privately. Here Paul lashes out at Peter “before them all”.
Matt 9:10-12
2 Thessalonians 3:6,7
Yahusha said in the passage above that he came to call the sinner to repentance, not the righteous. Why would Paul want to separate from those that actually need him?

Kathy special pleads: “See, this is what I mean, you all don’t know enough to judge God and how He has chosen to deal with sin”
Kathy, the following word substitution demonstrates the logical fallacy you’ve committed:
“See, this is what I mean, you all don’t know enough to judge:
– Allah and how HE has chosen to deal with infidels
– ISIS and how they have chosen to deal with foreign oppression
– Stalin and how he chose to deal with bourgeoisie attitudes
– Hitler and how he chose to deal with the Jewish problem.”
The same counter-arguments you’d use against those four statements can be used against yours, as well.
