  1. Well, I’ll say this for her, at least she’s not one of those Christians who only wants to give credit to her God when things are looking up. According to her he also gets the blame when it all goes sideways.

I’m really sorry that happened to you, Neuronotes.

  2. Well, I didn’t point out the obvious to her and that is that you still don’t trust in her God. Oh, the cognitive dissonance.

  3. Kathy’s willingness to remain unlearned also does a great disservice to the god she claims to believe in.

“I do not feel obliged to believe that some God who endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect had intended for us to forgo their use.”
    — Galileo Galilei —
    (1564-1642)

Note that even Galileo, raised in medieval Christian Europe, says “some God,” not “god

  4. Still waiting for this, Kathy —
“What don’t I have evidence for?? Please be specific“:
    1. The existence of a god named Yahweh
    2. The existence of ANY god or gods
    3. The existence of Yeshua, his life, death and resurrection

Once again, Kathy evades answering my questions —

  5. Arch, you were up mighty early this morning. Got big plans for today? Btw, temps are going to be in the lower 40’s tonight. It’s not suppose to get out of the 60’s today. Sunny and cool. Fall is finally here. Yay!

Looks like it’s going to be a hot week for you. According to the Weather Channel, your neck of the woods is going to experience temps in the lower 90’s Tuesday thru Friday. You couldn’t pay me to live in Texas.

  6. Galileo paid the price with his life for using his brain.

Well, if that’s true, that makes him a martyr to his beliefs, and according to Kathy, martyrs are evidence that what they died for is true, and since Galileo was persecuted for his belief that the Earth revolved around the sun, as opposed to the Bible’s belief tat the sun revolves around the Earth, that must make the bible wrong – IF martyrs are proof of what they believe.

So which is wrong, Kathy, the Bible, or your martyr theory?

Well, for clarification, he paid the price of a quality of life — as it cost him his freedom.

“You couldn’t pay me to live in Texas.” – Me either!”

LOL — Got you mixed up with another blogging friend, Professor Taboo.

exactly. Kathy is a detriment to society.
like I said before, her willful ignorance is evil.
    she’s a bully.

and Kathy, you say that god provides and cares for those who trust in him.
    uh, no….
that would be the federal govt that was putting food in your mouth, not god.

  9. Supreme Court Justice Scalia wants to bolster religious privilege in America. According to him, government should be able to discriminate between religion and secularism, so long as it does not discriminate between religions.

The separation of church and state doesn’t mean “the government cannot favor religion over non-religion,” Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia argued during a speech at Colorado Christian University on Wednesday, according to The Washington Times.

  10. From the book, God’s Debris free download http://nowscape.com/godsdebris.pdf

    Curious Bees
“Why do people have different religions?” I asked. “It
seems like the best one would win, eventually, and we’d all
    believe the same thing.”
The old man paused and rocked. He tucked both hands inside his red plaid blanket.
“Imagine that a group of curious bees lands on the out- side of a church window. Each bee gazes upon the interior through a different stained glass pane. To one bee, the church’s interior is all red. To another it is all yellow, and so on. The bees cannot experience the inside of the church directly; they can only see it. They can never touch the interior or smell it or interact with it in any way. If bees could talk they might argue over the color of the interior. Each bee would stick to his version, not capable of understanding that the other bees were looking through different pieces of stained glass. Nor would they understand the purpose of the church or how it got there or anything about it. The brain of a bee is not capable of such things.
“But these are curious bees. When they don’t under- stand something, they become unsettled and unhappy. In the long run the bees would have to choose between permanent curiosity and uncomfortable mental state and delusion. The bees don’t like those choices. They would prefer to know the true color of the church’s interior and its purpose, but bee brains are not designed for that level of understanding. They must choose from what is possible, either discomfort or self-deception. The bees that choose discomfort will be unpleasant to be around and they will be ostracized. The bees that choose self-deception will band together to reinforce their vision of a red based interior or yellow-based interior and so on.”
“So you’re saying we’re like dumb bees?” I asked, trying to lighten the mood.
    “Worse. We are curious.”

Ken, that’s quite an interesting analogy. I plan on read GD this coming week. I’ve allotted a time to read it in one sitting. Looking forward to it.

“I wasn’t feeling very well that day –”

Arch, neither was the Professor. Btw, speaking of Colorado, have you seen this?

  13. Focusing on the “behavior” of people who hold a certain belief is pointless.. the very same argument could be used against those who choose not to believe in God.. all easily summed up in ONE word… pride.

  15. Ruth,

“What a strange question to ask a person who doesn’t think God exists. What I know is that in order to live this life you need money. Most people work very hard for theirs. And isn’t it you who is touting the virtues of the almighty dollar when you celebrate capitalism for the creation of jobs so the really deserving can have more of it?”

I never claimed we dont’ need money.. but we don’t need a LOT of money.. again Neuro’s needs are being met. It would benefit her greatly if she realized that everything she has is because of God’s grace. That’s the valuable lesson.

And I praise capitalism.. not the “might dollar”.. capitalism ensures freedoms and rights.
