I think this pastor makes some excellent points. I agree that Christians should be able to talk about their beliefs without being branded "intolerant." It's their tone and behavior that should determine how tolerant they are. We could all do with learning how to communicate more openly with one another. I really recommend reading his… Continue reading
So Chik-Fil-A Was Busy Today…
When my wife and I pulled into our local shopping center, we couldn't figure out why traffic was backed up so far down the highway, until we saw the long line of cars trying to get into Chik-Fil-A. Then we remembered that today was "Chik-Fil-A Appreciation Day." How stupid. Look, Dan Cathy is free to… Continue reading So Chik-Fil-A Was Busy Today…
My View of Jesus
This began as a response to unkleE in the comment thread of my last post. However, I decided that I was getting too wordy for a comment and decided to turn it into a post. But I'm also pretty lazy and have left the post as though I'm talking directly to unkleE. Here it is:I… Continue reading My View of Jesus
Tecumseh the Prophet
I just finished reading The Frontiersmen by Allan Eckert, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't realize how little I knew about this period of American history, until I read this book. Eckert's book is not historical fiction, it's an actual history covering the settlement of the areas around Kentucky and Ohio. It centers mostly… Continue reading Tecumseh the Prophet
A simple, but excellent example!
Please read this post! He made some great points that I haven't really considered before. I think believers and nonbelievers alike could get something from this...

Keep it simple, stupid. One of my college professors reminded us of that acronym constantly whenever we were discussing programming or system design. It tends to be good advice. I was reminded of it earlier today when I heard some people discussing the Sabbath Day. The Ten Commandments tell us that the Sabbath Day is… Continue reading KISS
New Layout
WordPress has so many great themes, I have trouble sticking to just one. I really liked the last one I was using, but I felt that the font was a little small. I also felt like moving to something with a brighter feel. Any thoughts on this one?
Can a True Christian Ever Lose Her Faith?
Many Christians believe in the doctrine of eternal security, which teaches that once someone is saved, they can never lose that salvation. It's a very comforting thought, but it's not without controversy. First of all, not all Christians believe in this doctrine, because the Bible gives very mixed signals about it. Secondly, most people who… Continue reading Can a True Christian Ever Lose Her Faith?
Ten Thousand
Saying "what kind of an idiot doesn't know about the Yellowstone supervolcano" is so much more boring than telling someone about the Yellowstone supervolcano for the first time. via http://xkcd.com/1053/ Thought this was fantastic advice. Sometimes it's easy to belittle those we disagree with, but what good does that do anyone? It's so much better… Continue reading Ten Thousand
